Henry Bradley Unzueta ( Lima , 1940 - Ibid , 2016 ) was an outstanding pilot of motoring Peru
Biography
Henry Bradley was born in Lima in 1940. Son of the car driver also English and entrepreneur Henry Bradley Barnett, who arrived in Peru in the decade of the 20 .
He ventured into the world of motorsport from a very young age, without expecting to become a milestone in Peruvian motorsports. His debut was made on December 8, 1961 at the Norperuano Grand Prix (Sullana - Tumbes - Sullana), achieving second place in his category and third in the general classification.
After competing in the 1962 Argentine Grand Prix, he wonders why the Argentines had a Grand Prix and the Peruvians did not. He began to convey this concern to Nicky Alzamora and the members of the Peruvian Automobile Club , who began to work and after four years, searching for the routes, the first Caminos del Inca race was held. Commanding a Volvo 122S and having Cesar Vidaurre as co-pilot, the young Henry was the winner of the first edition of the Caminos del Inca National Grand Prix in 1966 and then six more times (1968, 1970, 1976, 1979, 1980 and 1988) achieving a record difficult to beat.
He owns an advanced driving school where great figures of motorsport passed, and the Santa Rosa District racetrack is named after his father.
He died in Lima the 7 of April of 2016 , victim of cancer and myasthenia gravis. [ 1 ] His remains being veiled in the facilities of the Peruvian Automobile Club (Av. Canaval y Moreyra 671, San Isidro). [ 2 ]
