Humberto Martínez Morosini 2
(1929 – 2015)
We remembered another year since the death of Humberto Martínez Morosini, renowned journalist, broadcaster and radio and television host. He made his professional debut in 1940 on Radio Arequipa and later on Radio Continental, also from his native land. He was the main announcer of Radio Panamericana since it began broadcasting in 1953, at his location on Belén Street in the historic center of Lima, his voice being the one that identified the radio station. Humberto Martinez Morosini was for years the host of Panamericana Televisión's top newscasts, beginning with El Panamericano up to 24 hours.
Don Humberto Martínez Morosini, who died on September 23 at the age of 86, accompanied with his narrations on television, the great sporting achievements of the Peruvian team in the seventies and eighties. Throughout his long professional career, he fulfilled various tasks: newscaster, sportscaster and commentator, master of ceremonies, entertainer and occasionally actor.
Humberto Martínez Morosini also stood out as a television presenter. 1961. He was in charge of the Cinco Manía program, an important space for daily contests, with competitions such as the letter game, the hidden phrase or proverb, and the Identikit.

"The round", "The vedette", "The black and white", "The number five", "The tool". The unattainable place for the goalkeeper was called "The corner of the souls", "Nothing happens here..." when the marker did not move. "He removed the goal label from that ball", to refer to the effort of the one who saves and the power of the one who hit. All those words were incorporated not only into the sports lexicon, but also into our daily conversation.
Martínez Morosini was host of the stellar newscasts of Panamericana Televisión, the first of which was El Panamericano.1960. The great events of Peru and the world were always transmitted by his well-known voice.
Humberto Martinez Morosini was in charge of the program Cinco Manía, a notable space for daily contests. The popular Martínez Morosini was not only linked to football through his television narrations of the most important matches of the Peruvian national team, but also became vice president of the Peruvian Football Federation in 1992, during the presidency of Walter Indacochea Queirolo. Unfortunately his period was not very long. However, the announcer and journalist, in his short time as manager, made strenuous efforts to give the FPF a better organization.
Charisma, truthfulness and objectivity always characterized him; he posed on the screens to bring the entire Peru the most complete information. Morosini was always reminded because he "editorialized with his face" or "editorialized with his gaze", because his expressions left no doubt about his position regarding what he had to narrate; even more so during authoritarian governments. But perhaps the memory of him is more present because of the narrations of the soccer matches that the Peruvian Soccer Team starred in.
Always privileged to conduct beauty pageants. His voice is still heard in all the glorious games like the classification in Buenos Aires, to Mexico 70; the 1975 South American Championship won with victories against Colombia and Brazil; or the qualifying campaign for Spain 82; until the last great feat in 1985 when the 2-2 draw in Buenos Aires against Argentina was not enough to qualify for Mexico 1986

How many volleyball championships, like that South American
event in Bucaramanga in the 1970s broadcast by "Vía Satélite" with
Lucha Fuentes at the helm, for example, and many others to remember. Martínez
Morosini was a highly respected personality in Peru, which is why he was
president of the Circle of Sports Journalists in the 1980s. He was the winner
of the Astro award, on several occasions, as the best news narrator in Peru.
And in the year 2000 he was elected Congressman for the Avancemos movement,
together with Rafael Rey, who led Federico Salas as a candidate for the
presidency of the Republic. Humberto Martinez
Morosini and his daughter Marisol Martin
Martínez Morosini, was a very distinguished person in Peru, his death, after suffering a stroke, was greatly lamented by the Peruvian people, who always saw in him a highly appreciated person with clear principles. Master Don Humberto Martínez Morosini will always live in the memory of all Peruvians
With affection,
Ruben
