Carlos Alfonso Rospigliosi Rivarola , better known as Pocho Rospigliosi Lima , March 23, 1930 - Lima, October 14, 1988), was a journalist and sports commentator for the Peruvian written press, radio and television .
Biography
He was born in the District of La Victoria , on March 23 , 1930 .
He was one of the most prominent sports journalists in Peruvian history. He successfully ventured into the written press as well as on radio and television. Program Ovation Radio El Sol, founded on November of June of 1964 , was of great daily audience and must tune in the transmission of sporting events such as Copa Libertadores, Football World Championships or Olympic Games. In 1970, she received from the President of the Organizing Committee of the Mexico 70 World Cup, the trophy that won an Ovation for being the best foreigner to broadcast said event. He also transmitted music in his classics " Los Domingos de Ovación ", " Tres en Ovación " and "Salsa in Ovation ".
In 1973 he founded the Revista Ovación , the Sports Magazine that Peru expected , and in March 1980, he founded the program Gigante Deportivo on Panamericana Televisión that was broadcast on Saturdays and Sundays from 12 noon to 4 in the afternoon. The program would remain on the air until July 1986, despite the reduction of hours and, almost at the end, of broadcast days.
His hyperactivity associated with obesity took the toll on him. First with an operation to the heart of several "bypasses" and then the stroke that cost him his life on October 14 , 1988 .
His son, Miguel Rospigliosi (Micky) started very young, along with him in Ovación and Gigante Deportivo . Determined to continue the legacy of his father, he founded Radio Ovación in the 90's and the high levels of tuning made it a success, although one of his partners took it from him in 2006. [ 1 ] Micky died in the year 2009 .
